Welcome to my travel newsletter!

“Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all peoples cry, laugh, eat, worry, and die, it can introduce the idea that if we try and understand each other, we may even become friends.”

Nice to Meet You

Salut! My name is Ilya and I work mostly in IT as a software engineer and consultant and launch my own projects. I work remotely, speak 6 languages and love to be "globally based".

Over the past 4 years, I have been actively travelling and trying myself as a Digital Nomad. I leave my permanent place, ditch the rented flat and travel around the world, then come back and chill for a bit and prepare for the next adventure. One of my recent trips was a 5-month road trip across whole Europe. I’m now in Asia.

And during all these years I have accumulated a lot of insights that I can happily share. They would definitely come in handy for similar travellers, be it rookies or even globetrotters au fait with travel. Also, friends always ask me if I can tell more about my trips and share my impressions and knowledge. So the idea was born to launch a travel newsletter. This format is more appealing to me, since I overall don’t like social networks and have no Facebook or Instagram account.

My standard combo of things I love to check out at a new location consists of (at least) the best coffee(/brunch) shops, design + inspiration + authentic related, travel aesthetics, museums and some history (but not too much) and… electronic music. So I’m going to cover these as well as share my own reflections and insights, stunning spots and guides, etc. and etc. Everything which is aesthetic and global - I indulge into it.

But I also have ambition to touch some interesting topics and research related to a global citizen lifestyle, not just boring and generic lists of recommendations.

If asked me about keywords for the newsletter, I’d say #travel, #minimalism, #aesthetics, #design, #tech, #finance, #languagelearning, #music, #global, #cosmopolitan, #guides, #tips, #deals, #reports, #digitalnomad.

I’m aiming to send an email weekly or biweekly, perhaps more often, perhaps less often. I promise no spam.
